    Type 1 (as is) and Type 2 (as was) data.

    I am doing a lot of DW design, so I figured I would start posting information I find that is really interesting here too. We have had lots of discussions around our design group about how to deal with as is comparisons as well as as was in a straightforward manner in Analysis Services, and here is what I found.

    This tip is basically the complete explanation of how/why you would want to combine type 1, 2 , and or 3 into the same row.

    This paper covers the concept of keeping both for the same attribute in the same row in the section called: 'Type 2 with "Current" Overwrite'.  It also covers several other possibilities that are really interesting
